Scottish Slate Roofers is an independent specialist roofing sourcing and introduction service. We are not a roofing contractor, surveyor or project manager and do not carry out, supervise, warrant or guarantee roofing work.

Owner-authorised roofing referrals

For suitable substantial projects, where a property owner, representative or project decision-maker asks us to help source quotations, we may introduce the enquiry to a limited selection of suitable independent roofing contractors, normally no more than three, so that those contractors can assess the project and, if they wish, provide quotations. We do not guarantee that three contractors will be available or that every contractor approached will quote.

Project Intelligence

Separately, Scottish Slate Roofers may independently research live roofing projects and supply project intelligence to suitable roofing contractors. Project Intelligence is not the same product as an owner-authorised roofing enquiry or referral. It may be supplied non-exclusively to multiple suitably matched contractors, subject to the recipient limit disclosed for the individual opportunity. Our current hard maximum is 10 paid contractor recipients for an individual non-exclusive Project Intelligence opportunity; the actual number may be lower and 10 is a ceiling rather than a sales target.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, purchasing Project Intelligence does not mean that the property owner, client, contracting authority or project team has authorised the purchaser to quote, nor does it guarantee access, a response, an invitation to tender, appointment or contract award.

Your choice

You are under no obligation to appoint a contractor introduced by Scottish Slate Roofers and may obtain other quotations independently. You decide which contractor, quotation and approach best suits your property. An introduction is not an endorsement or guarantee of suitability, workmanship, price, availability or outcome.

No charge to property owners

There is no charge to property owners for our sourcing and introduction service. Scottish Slate Roofers is remunerated by participating and successful roofing contractors. This does not make Scottish Slate Roofers a party to the roofing contract between you and any contractor you choose to appoint.

Independent contractors

Any inspection, quotation, contract, payment, deposit, workmanship, warranty, programme, health and safety obligation, advice or dispute concerning roofing work is between the property owner or representative and the independent contractor. Before appointing a contractor, users should make their own checks appropriate to the project, including insurance, experience, references, credentials and any planning, listed-building or other permissions required.

Website content and any preliminary discussion with Scottish Slate Roofers are general information only and are not structural, surveying, planning, conservation, legal or other professional advice. Property and roofing requirements should be assessed by an appropriately qualified professional where necessary.

Availability

We do not guarantee contractor availability, that an enquiry will result in a quotation or appointment, or that the website or service will always be available without interruption.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, Scottish Slate Roofers is not responsible for the acts, omissions, advice, quotations, contracts or work of independent contractors introduced through the service.
